Vlietland Hospital in Schiedam, the Netherlands

The Assignment

To equip the new Vlietland Hospital with various automatic door systems such as
automatic revolving doors, automatic sliding doors and a UniTurn with a diameter of at least 5.4 meters.

The Challenge

The challenge involved various swing door operators for the automation of both wooden single-action doors and fire-resistant doors.

There was a need to create a safe, draught-free and comfortable entrance for both patients and visitors while ensuring good accessibility and the demarcation of the areas for staff and important visitors.

The Solution

Besam's complete solutions, service organization and the quality of the products were the deciding factors in opting for us.

Besam  installed a 2-winged draught-free UniTurn revolving door with the unique Besam air curtain system in the main entrance. This provided the Vlietland hospital with great benefits in both comfort and energy-saving.

In addition to the benefit of the air curtain system, this UniTurn also guarantees a safe escape route and easy access for both able-bodied and disabled.

200 swing door operators and 150 sliding door operators were installed on the doors in between the departments to ensure convenient, comfortable and safe access.
